몬트는 물감을 불어 퍼뜨리는 독특한 작업 방식에 대해, ‘직접적인 도구의 터치 없이 파동을 표현’하여 우주를 그리는 데에 그 목적이 있다고 설명한다. 한편으론 입김 혹은 숨결을 불어넣는 것이 에너지를 전달하는 은유로 흔히 쓰임을 고려했을 때, 우주 만물을 구성하는 무수한 입자들 뿐 아니라 GPS, 빛 등의 파동과 입자를 ‘불어서’ 표현하는 것은 작가의 에너지를 세상 구석구석 모든 존재에 확산시키는 행위이기도 하다. 그리고 이를 생각하며 작품을 다시 바라보면, 캔버스라는 유한한 크기의 평면에 유한한 개수의 입자와 파동임에도 불구하고 이들은 캔버스의 경계를 넘어 무한히 펼쳐지는 듯하다. 이렇듯 무한히 펼쳐진 입자와 파동을 붓으로 그리는 것이 아닌, 불어서 표현하는 몬트의 작업은 작가가 스스로 자신의 작업에 큰 영감이 되었다고 이야기하는 양자역학의 ‘불확정성의 원리’와도 맞닿아있다. 다시 말해, 우연적 효과들로 제각각일 수 밖에 없는 몬트의 입자들은 양자역학에서 입자의 위치와 운동량을 정확히 알 수 없다는 양자역학의 기본원리를 시각화하는 것이다.

Mond explains that his unique method of blowing paint is aimed at depicting the universe by "creating waves without the direct touch of a tool". On the one hand, given that blowing or breathing is a common metaphor for transmitting energy, "blowing" the waves and particles of GPS, light, etc. as well as the myriad particles that make up everything in the universe is also an act of spreading the artist's energy to all beings in every corner of the world. And when I look at the work again with this in mind, despite the finite number of particles and waves on the finite-sized plane of the canvas, they seem to spread infinitely beyond the boundaries of the canvas. Mond's use of blowing, rather than painting, to express these infinite particles and waves is in line with the "indeterminacy principle" of quantum mechanics, which the artist says has been a great inspiration for his work. In other words, Mond's particles, which can only be different due to chance effects, visualize the basic principle of quantum mechanics that the position and momentum of a particle cannot be known exactly.

이 세상 모든 것은 입자와 파동으로 되어있고 중력을 가지고 서로를 끌어당긴다.
'생각의 끌어당김'을 잊지 않기 위한 작가 명 독일어로 몬트(mond), '달'이다. 공중에 던져진 물감 덩어리는 아무도 예상할 수 없는 모양으로 있다가 캔버스에 닿는 순간 자신의 모습을 스스로 결정한다. 물감에 숨을 불어넣어 만들어진 파동이 모양을 만들어내거나 눈을 감고 그림을 그리는 행위 또한 마찬가지다. 생각은 파동으로서 존재하고 내가 간섭하지 않으며 그려진 결과는 자유롭고 무한하다. 나는 관찰자다. 지구 밖 무한한 우주를 바라보기도 하고 우리가 살아가는 소우주에 대한 호기심도 풀어 나가고 싶다.

 Everything in this world is made of particles and waves, and gravity pulls them together.
 The artist's name is mond, 'moon' in German, to remind us of the 'pull of thought'. A blob of paint thrown into the air takes on an unpredictable shape and decides for itself the moment it hits the canvas. The same is true for the waves created by breathing into the paint to create shapes, or the act of drawing with your eyes closed. The thought exists as a wave, I don't interfere, and the result is free and infinite. I am the observer. I want to look at the infinite universe outside of our planet, and I want to unravel my curiosity about the microcosm in which we live.
